Which Video Format Should I Choose?
When creating a new script, Subscribr gives you the ability to choose between a number of different video formats, such as Compilation, Documentary, Educational, Review, Story, etc.
Script Formats
- Educational: Videos that teach concepts or skills with clear explanations and structured learning progression
- Documentary: In-depth factual explorations of topics with historical context and narrative elements
- Compilation/Listicle: List-based videos (e.g., "Top 10...") where each section covers one item in the list (learn more)
- Story: Narrative-driven content (usually fiction) that follows storytelling principles with character development and plot
- Vlog: Personal, conversational content delivered from the creator's perspective
- Review: Balanced assessments of products, services, or media with evidence-based pros and cons
- News: Factual reporting on current events with context and analysis
- Video Sales Letter (VSL): Persuasive marketing videos with clear value propositions and calls to action
- Other: Flexible format for content that doesn't fit the standard categories
Presently, most of the video formats are there to just give the AI a tiny bit more information about the type of video you are aiming to create. This can affect how the AI recommends structuring your script, as well as the way it writes titles and draft content.
Note that there is one video format that currently does have specific functionality built around it in Subscribr: the Compilation / Listicle format. You should choose this format when your goal is to have a script that covers a specific number of points or items to feature, such as "Top 8 Foods For Heart Health." Choosing this format will give you the ability to enter the top 8 foods and Subscribr will automatically create one script section for each.
Not certain which video format is best for your script? It's totally fine to choose "Other" as this will not adversely affect the script in any way.
