Providing Research for your Scripts
Good YouTube scripts need solid research. Subscribr makes it easy to gather, organize, and use source materials when creating your scripts. This guide explains all the research features available to improve your content.

Understanding Research Limits
Each Subscribr plan has a research word limit that shows at the top of your Research dashboard. This limit applies to the total word count of all research materials in a single script.
Research Word Limits by Plan:
- Ideation Plans: 50,000 words per script
- Creator Plans: 75,000 words per script
- Automation Plans: 100,000 words per script

You can see how much of your limit you've used on the Research tab, which shows both used and available words.

How Subscribr Uses Your Research
Your research materials do more than just sit in the sidebar - they actively shape your script content:
Outline Generation
When you create an outline, Subscribr analyzes all your research materials and uses this information to generate a better structure for your script.
Section-Specific Research Reports
For each section in your outline, Subscribr creates a custom research report containing relevant information from your sources. These reports help:
- Keep your content accurate and detailed
- Ensure you cover important points from your research
- Provide context for AI-generated content
You can view these research reports by:
- Going to the Draft step in the script builder
- Clicking the Research button at the top
- Each script section will flip to show its customized research report
Research Feedback (Pre-Outline)
Before generating your outline, you can get AI-powered feedback on your research:
- Go to the Draft step in the script builder
- Look for the Research Feedback option
- Subscribr will analyze your research materials and suggest:
- Potential gaps in your research
- Additional topics that might be worth covering
- How well your research aligns with your script goals
This optional step helps ensure your research is comprehensive before creating your outline.
Updating Research After Draft Creation
If you add new research after creating your draft:
- Go to the Draft step in the script builder
- Click the Actions button
- Select Refresh Research
- Subscribr will regenerate the research reports for all script sections
To update your draft content with the new research:
- Go to each script section's Plan tab
- Click Generate Draft to rewrite that section using the updated research
Organizing Research
Starring Important Items
Mark important research materials with the star icon to create a reusable collection for your channel
How Starred Research Works:
- Starred research is saved to your channel's collection
- When you create a new script, starred research items are automatically added
- This creates a knowledge base that follows you across all scripts
- Especially useful for personal brand channels where you want to include background information about yourself in every script
To star a research item, click the star icon next to any research source.
Best Practices
- Mix your sources: Include different types of research materials
- Check your facts: Verify information across multiple sources
- Star what matters: Mark your most reliable and important sources
- Organize early: Assign research to sections before writing
- Watch your limits: Keep an eye on your research word count
Troubleshooting
